PRESS: Russia readies support for mobile operators in new regions

MOSCOW, Feb 16 (PRIME) -- The Russian government has prepared support measures for the mobile operators working in the republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, aa well as in the Zaporozhskaya and Khersonskaya regions, daily Izvestiya reported on Thursday.

A high-ranking official told the daily that the measures include a free of charge launch of mobile connection networks, which costs about 100,000 rubles on average in Russia.

The numbering capacity with the +7 code will be also provided for free, while it usually costs operators 50 rubles for the allocation of each number.

The source also said that the companies on the new territories will be able to exploit uncertified equipment and start working prior to receipt of all the permits by the regulators.
